By media, I am referring to things like these- visual/audio aids that are used to help persuade an audience a certain way. At the beginning of the semester, I didn’t know that media and scientific writing were linked at all. But through our multi-modal project, I realized that the most effective way to reach a large number of people is to mass produce something that is simple but properly conveys the intended message. For example, we know the science behind the benefits of wearing a mask, so this displayed ad is put all over the MTA on purpose so that everyone is aware and feels inclined to wear a mask. Being able to make these memorable and clear is very important so that the wrong idea does not get conveyed through the simple terminology we boil down our message to.
